The Greatest Story Never told!

Resellers beware the Government is after you!

I just came across these photos on sneakerfreaker so resellers beware! Wear your shoes or else this will happen. Moisture can infiltrate the foam of the midsole and the air unit leading to a slow leak or worse, complete rupture of the air unit causing the disintegration of the midsole obviously rendering the shoe un-wearable and leaving a big $1000 “investment” useless on your shelves.

I do however present a more humorous recount of why this happens and it is as follows. The greatest conspiracy never told!

It’s DEFINATELY worth the read.

It is absolutely no coincidence that 1985 was the year that the Air Jordan I was released as well as a film distributed by Universal Studios titled “Back to the Future”. Carl Laemmle the founder of Universal settled in the Unites States in 1905 where he cofounded the Independent Moving Picture Company. Laemmle broke with Edison's custom of refusing credit to actors and by naming them in the film’s credits and by doing so was able to gain major influence over the film industry as well as create strong political foundations within the wider American community. To cut a long story short Universal Pictures Company was incorporated in 1925 gaining immediate success off the back of films such as the Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Phantom of the Opera.

Jump forward in time and the chance meeting of a young designer and people within the highest level of the Universal family set a limited lifespan to the reselling abilites of the sneaker market forever. Laemmle, using his political influences was able to ensure the visionary Tinker Hatfield was to be assigned to Nike’s upcoming Air Jordan line ensuring he could at least to some extent control the desirable nature of sneakers if he inturn controlled the visionary designer.

Jump back slightly in time to the Roswell Incident involving the recovery of materials near Roswell, New Mexico, USA, on July 7, 1947. It was not in-fact aliens who crash landed in Roswell New Mexico that ill-fated night but three men from the future flying back in time to warn us that in the year 2075 it was not money that was traded on the world market but sneakers, it was sneakers that became the currency of the world and as such all major governments lost control over the financial standings of their nations.

Obviously the US government could never let this happen and they set out on a major endevour to change the future. In making this decision alone they infact changed the course of history, resulting in the immediate disappearence of all debris surround the crash. Area 51 was established and the UFO scandal was virally marketed to all corners of the globe in order to cover up their true motive. Here is the shocking truth, Area 51 is not infact a secret research facility housing alien lifeforms but a secret Nike testing and development facility. Yes you might say that Nike was not infact founded until January 1964 however this was just the lead in time required by the government to establish their facility and lay the groundwork for their technologies. Do you think it is merely a coincidence that 'Nike' in Greek Mythology is a goddess representing ‘Triumph’?

The flux capacitor was the main driving component of the future aircraft and this is where the US Government came up with the ingenious idea of discrediting any future leak surrounding the name and validity of the devise. By creating a movie and using the real technology as the main function of time travel the possible future leak of such a technology would obviously be deemed immediately rediculous and a hoax.

Now what does this have to do with Tinker Hatfiel you may ask? After Universal and the US Government had conspired to decieve the world in order to maintain a functioning economy outside of Asia they needed to ensure that sneakers would not maintain a functional nature more then 10-15 years after their production, this timeline was chosen to ensure their immediate functionality and durability in order to not raise any eyebrows.

Tinker was influenced to use a porous midsole that would slowly decompose over time on all Jordans, even now in the modern day no perfect form of storage has been found. Yes it is true that the Air Jordan I was mainly credited to Peter Moore and the Air Jordan II to Bruce Kilgore but this was only to further bury the truth.

As design work for the Air Jordan line was gearing up so was the politically tied Universal Studios work on a new movie to star up and coming actor Micheal J Fox named ‘Back to the Future’, a movie based loosely on the surrounding events that preceeded it. Did you really think that it was a co-incidence that Tinker Hatfield designed the ‘McFly’ sneaker for the movie? So really you could say that Universal Studio is indeed Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, the US government is ‘Biff Tannen’ and Nike in one way or another is ‘Marty McFly’!

Now you may ask, how did they know Jordan was to become the revolutionary basketball player he was and create such a collectable nature around his sneaker line which in turn enabled the government to tightening their grip on the resellable nature of the sneaker market? Plain and simple, he is an alien, who can in-fact fly and as such was destined to be near unstoppable on court. See below for proof.

This IS indeed the greatest story never told, somebody get me the Walkley Award I have it on lock.

Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe

So why is the 10th of November going to be a great day? Not because its 5 days after the memorable 405th anniversary of the Guy Fawkes Gun Powder plot but because its the day that 'Mortal Kombat Vs DC' comes out! This is set to be one of the greats in modern arcade style fighters with new innovations that are absolutely rediculous such as free fall fighting and multi scene levels. Do yourself a favour and check the video.

New 'Watchmen' Posters and Interview

This is one of the reasons that Watchmen should be great!
Zack Snyder on the success of The Dark Knight opening doors for more dramatic superhero films:
"Sure. It’s an amazing movie. It’s not just a superhero movie, it’s a good movie. The difference is, in the first Batman movie, people always say, that’s a dark movie. Yeah it’s dark but the Batman gets to go to the Himalayas to train with ninjas to become a super fighter, that’s not dark, that’s cool. In Watchmen, there is nothing like that. Nite Owl can’t get an erection, that’s a different kind of dark."

For more pictures and the rest of the interview (no spoilers) check here

Dangerous...

I've been a fan of Kardi for a minute, the album that got shelved sounded like it was going to be a banger, the Belly Dancer single was nuts. Here is his new joint, cool song, radio friendly as so might get him some recognition.

Twilight Speedball...

This is Mighty Mos performing the Chad Hugo produced "Twilight Speedball" from his upcoming album Ecstatic. Beat sounds dope, can't wait for this album to drop, I hope it's the return of Mos bringing it hard... Pause...

Best Interview Ever..?

Now this interview with Skateboard P and Shay is completely random. First of all... Nardwar the human Serviette? So I'm a bit thrown with this guy to start with, but once he goes in, Pharrell is floored with his research. I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the next N.E.R.D video.

Nike Zoom Lebron VI

This is not a joke, this is the official Zoom Lebron VI and visually they appear not up to scratch. I don’t know if it’s the Jordan XX3 influence on the midsole and front paneling or the New Balance 576 x Lebron IV style sole but I am not feeling this shoe which is very disappointing. I am a dedicated consumer of the Lebron sneaker line but visually these are unflattering at best. The Jordan line experienced continual success due to many things one of which being the relationship, at least for a large proportion of the history, between MJ and the legend himself Tinker Hatfield (Lets not forget the man even created the Mcfly!) and the common design language that seemed to emanate throughout the company. Unfortunately for Lebron it doesn’t seem to have carried over as of late.

Let’s just hope that they are miraculous on foot but I am not sure that with the recent release of the XX3 and the Hyperdunks I can find room in my budget for these.

ACU x ADIDAS ZX800

These are just so dope. Materials look ultra premium and the zx800 is very lightweight and comfortable. The ACU ZX800 will be launched on August 8th, at ACU Shanghai, CLOT online store and ACU Pop-up Store, 4th floor, adidas Brand Center, San Li Tun, Beijing.

Goonies Puma Disc Blaze

"A favorite for any kid growing up in the 90s, The Goonies featured a slightly believable story with just enough fiction to spark the interest of a younger generation. From the gadgetry of Data, the unforgettable grotesque figure known as Sloth and the heroics of the secret Goonies society, this 1985 classic forms the basis for this Puma Disc Blaze. Few details are known about this release, however the design itself incorporates some familiar imagery with a skull motif along the upper and the use of hemp."
Now if you read this blog you would have seen my rant about 1980's shoe collaborations, well that rant does not apply to the 90's! I loved the Goonies and it is one of those timeless classics of the era, not only that, puma disc's are a very underated sneaker, comfy, different and not hyped up by weekend sneakerheads so this is is a shoe I will definately be after.

Nike Infrared re-re-re-retro

Hypebeasts its time to saddle up and get your sleep out on. I don’t know about you but I still haven’t worn my Infrared’s from the last retro-ing yet. Why you might ask? Because everyday I still see fashion boys, emo’s and stevies wearing them down the street making me want to shelve them for longer and longer. My plan was working, the plethora of infrareds flooding the streets of Prahran and the city was starting to subside and my pair was making their way up to the top of the stack, but what now, another retro less then two years after the previous one. Thank you very much Nike, I can’t wait to see another few hundred kids become sneaker heads again with one single purchase.

These are already dropping and selling out before lunchtime throughout Europe, soon here in Melbourne as well but no chance I’m saying the date.

Jordan Brand Olympia

With the 2008 Beijing Olympics starting next week here are the pictures of the shoes that will be worn by all Jordan Brand players, the Jordan 'Olympia'. I can't wait to get my hands on a pair I hope they are better on court then the 10's!

Hotpants are back!

Danity Kane - Bad girl

Girlicious - Like Me

Keri Hilson - Energy

Pussycat Dolls - When I grow up

Thats right legs, hotpants and girls dancing around in their underwear in non-dance music video's is back! Im not gonna bother posting them on here because basically it has alot to do with nothing so links will have to satisfy you. Not since Benny Benassi suggested we seek satisfaction has there been an onslaught of 'sexy' filmclips dropped in around a week or so. What a horrible world we live in?

Random I know

Nike SB “Ferris Bueller” Dunks

Ok so what have we learnt in recent history, maybe only particularly here in Australia about the release of Nike SB's? Graffiti artists sell, customizers sell (hit me up), musicians sell, however shoes dedicated to 1980’s TV series and movies such as the suspected pedophile Pee Wee Herman Dunk Highs do not do so well. So why then are we burdened with the release of this Ferris Bueller Dunk High?

We are already swamped with a range of shoes which are allegedly “skate” shoes but I am pretty sure I remember them all bar a few being basketball or training shoes. When will they realise it wasn’t skaters who bought the Unkle, SBTG or De La SB’s, it was sneaker heads and fashion boys! O well, at least it saves me money.

Watchmen Teaser Trailer

Ok I had to calm down before I posted this because frankly I was so excited it might not have made much sense. The Watchmen is by favourite graphic novel and by the looks of it, and this is only a teaser it looks like they are staying true to the book! In the vein of Sin City it appears that direct panel sequences are replicated in these previews which is very promising.

For those of you who are yet to read this brilliant graphic novel please do yourself a favor and check it out. There is so much content I am still hesitant to get too excited because lets not forget how 'I am Legend' was just recently massacred as well as the last work of Alan Moore to be brought to the big screen 'V for Vendetta'. But for now, let’s just appreciate this great little clip, and if you haven't read the book I am quite sure it will make absolutely no sense to you. Now we just have to wait till March 09
