Nike Air Mag “Marty McFly” News

So it is a safe to say, any sneakerhead dreams of owning a pair of Marty McFly's self lacing shoes he was seen rocking in Back To The Future 2. Well with this latest leaking of news, that dream is a little bit closer. Some patent information has leaked, with images, and Tinker Hatfield's name attached, 2015 can't come soon enough. One of the coolest things, aprt from the fact that it will self lace, apart from the fact that it will light up, is the case (power charger) it comes in. Click here for the full run down.

Sitting On Top Of The World...

Recently I was asked to DJ a Nike awards night at the "Eureka Skydeck" in Melbourne. It boasts the best vantage point from anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere. Quite a sight while getting people to get down.

Webslinger Dunk Low

The 'Webslinger' dunk low as the name would indicate is based on the alien symbiote suit the hero temporarily adopts during both the comic and movie. The sneaker features a silver web pattern as well as a Carnage / symbiote midpanel. These are going to be available for a limited time at SekureD.com

Nike Cup Melbourne...

Recently I was asked to DJ an event for Nike called the Nike Cup Melbourne. It was a two day invite only event aimed for 15-18 football heads to compete in a round robin soccer tournament. They completely converted unused warehouse space at the Nike Head Office in Melbourne into football pitches. 2 DJ's, four pitches, awesome event. Check the video here.

Nike Zoom Lebron VI

This is not a joke, this is the official Zoom Lebron VI and visually they appear not up to scratch. I don’t know if it’s the Jordan XX3 influence on the midsole and front paneling or the New Balance 576 x Lebron IV style sole but I am not feeling this shoe which is very disappointing. I am a dedicated consumer of the Lebron sneaker line but visually these are unflattering at best. The Jordan line experienced continual success due to many things one of which being the relationship, at least for a large proportion of the history, between MJ and the legend himself Tinker Hatfield (Lets not forget the man even created the Mcfly!) and the common design language that seemed to emanate throughout the company. Unfortunately for Lebron it doesn’t seem to have carried over as of late.

Let’s just hope that they are miraculous on foot but I am not sure that with the recent release of the XX3 and the Hyperdunks I can find room in my budget for these.

Nike Infrared re-re-re-retro

Hypebeasts its time to saddle up and get your sleep out on. I don’t know about you but I still haven’t worn my Infrared’s from the last retro-ing yet. Why you might ask? Because everyday I still see fashion boys, emo’s and stevies wearing them down the street making me want to shelve them for longer and longer. My plan was working, the plethora of infrareds flooding the streets of Prahran and the city was starting to subside and my pair was making their way up to the top of the stack, but what now, another retro less then two years after the previous one. Thank you very much Nike, I can’t wait to see another few hundred kids become sneaker heads again with one single purchase.

These are already dropping and selling out before lunchtime throughout Europe, soon here in Melbourne as well but no chance I’m saying the date.

Can anyone get me a pair?

I'll pay...

"Undefeated in Santa Monica will mark the first release location of the highly anticipated “Marty McFly” inspired Nike Hyperdunk. Featuring Nike’s newest hi-tech Flywire technology along with speckled midsoles, an amazing colorway and Back to the Future-esque badging, not to mention the glowing soles, these shoes are the total collector’s item. Along with this occasion comes a tee featuring a tribute to Kobe Bryant’s 2008 MVP season. There will also be an un-announced special guest in attendance, could it be #24 himself? Get your blankets and lawn chairs ready as this Wednesday June 2nd at 4pm marks the spot."

Nike Air Pegasus 89 Retro

Yes! Yes! Yes!
Now before I get to excited I am going to keep my fingers crossed they do not ruin this shoe with horrible colorways like they did the Air Stab and Air Structure 91. Nice, simple, clean and classic colorways please, leave the fluro to the fashionboys.

Back To The...

...Mutha Fuckin Future!!! With the release of the Nike Hyperdunk just around the corner, this image has popped up on the net, pretty much making anyone slightly interested in this shoe lose their minds. The Hyperdunk takes it's inspiration from the Marty McFly Back To The Future II shoe, and this looks to be a teaser of the Hyperdunk colourway of that same shoe. This is one everyone will be chasing.

Holiday 08 Air Structure Triax 91's

Ok as predicted it looks like we are going to see a bunch of Structure Triax's this next year and the flood has already begun but unfortunately as was the fate of the Air Stab it all seems to be going downhill rapidly. I'm not going to lie, the second of the two above is pretty nice but we have already seen some questionable color and material choices as well as quality control issues with the Structure Traix range and if their retro predecessor the Air Stabs are anything to go by I fear that the best of the range has already come and gone.
